Trevor:  The fuel tank is 80 L.  The warning symbol comes on when there
are 15 L left (BTDT several times just to establish that this is
correct).  At 1 US gal = 3.78 L, 80 L = 21.16 US gal.  15 L = 3.97 US
gal.  Therefore 21.16-3.97 = 17.2 US gal.

So, I would say, things are working about right if you are igoring the
warning light for a few miles and then squeezing in 17.5 US gal.
