that reflects my thinking as well. i don't want to spend $2k on an
intercooler for the car. i don't need to extract every ounce of power
from this car. i still have the stock K24 turbo, with MTM II+ chip and
RS2 EM. i just want to get better IC performance so the car won't pull
timing and boost as much.

please don't take it off-line. several of us do want to know what you
come up with. the CO contingent's position is basically that you can't
really do it for much less than $2k for any kind of custom FMIC, so you
might as well as pay $2k for the good one. i'm not convinced that you
can't come up with something substantially better than stock for substantially
less.
i'm not sure how it happened, but my question about what was involved
in building an intercooler seems to have been interpreted as an attack on
the people who spent $2k+ on theirs. it was just a question. it seems
like taking two stock intercoolers and welding them together may be the
most cost-effective solution, at least until we see what you've got.
