[s-cars] RS2 Manifold Head Studs - 10.9 Hardness

What's your local dealer suggesting is the appropriate "price" for these? In
my personal experience, the turbo to downpipe studs & nuts via the dealer
are rather costly parts. As I recall, @ 3 years ago I think, the dealer was
asking something like @ $10+ each - @ $80+ for four nuts with studs. As Mae
West would say, don't loose or abuse your studs, or nuts .....

BTW, the parts desk justification for the cost was, "These must be made of
very special stuff...." I know the nuts at least, are a special copper
colored steel, but I couldn't get anyone to tell me, or even guess what that
might mean. As an alternative I tried going to a specialty fastener shop in
Denver. Their catalog listed a few, pretty costly but no where near as dear
as the Audi dealerships, aircraft spec nuts for high temperature
applications. They had no listings however for studs in any special high
temp steel application - maybe such things don't exist.
