[s-cars] A possible FMIC "theory"

I don't have the data to prove or disprove the following "theory" (okay,
conjecture):
Since most of the heat exchange is going to occur in the first few
inches from the inlet, for a given frontal area FMIC, a vertical flow IC
will be more efficient than a horizontal flow IC. If (see, I said,
"if") this is true, and since the way the front end is designed, most of
the incoming air that would contact the FMIC will hit the FMIC at the
bottom (remember I don't want to swiss-cheese my bumper), then a
vertical flow FMIC with flow from BOTTOM to TOP should be more efficient
than a vertical TOP to BOTTOM FMIC. This means very big (long) end
tanks but it may also make the plumbing easier (or not).
Its just a theory.
