OK, taking a chance here, I have what I believe is a GREAT idea for an
add on/update
to the Valentine V1. Please read this and let me know what you think.
Also if you are a
tech person please let me know how feasible you think this is.
Because the display of the V1's readout information is available
external of the
V1 why not take that information and save it? Valentine could build a
device that has GPS built into it so it could locate you. Then using
your PC you could download information on current known radar/laser
traps from Valentine's website. When you started to approach a
potential trap it would alert you.
Because it would know whenever a V1 radar/laser warning went off, if it
deemed it instant on it would "ask" via display for you to confirm/deny
if
it was a radar/laser trap. If at any time you received an alert that
wasn't instant on and it didn't ask, you could still input that you
deemed it a radar/laser trap. The next time you updated the unit via
the Internet it would upload your information for others to download as
you downloaded info others had uploaded.
What do you think? Should I write this up more detailed and send it
into Mike Valentine (Owner of Valentine)? As more people used the
system the
database of radar/laser traps would grow tremendously. Just think about
the possibilities!
Sooner or later the cops would have no where to hide.
Originally I thought about a transmitter in the car that would send out
a signal indicating the trap. Any other receiver within a certain
distance would receive the info of the trap including type, GPS
coordinates, if it's stationary or moving and then retransmit the data.
But then I figured the FCC would shit bricks over that so I tamed it
down to an on board storage of data that is up-datable via the
Internet.
Anyone an EE that can help make this possible?
Thanks
Chris
