The states that do participate in the DLC will report minor traffic 
violations, however the conviction will not appear on your record and points are not 
issued.

With MA being a non-participant, I'd say pay the fine and you'll be  in the 
clear. 
My girlfriend received an $450+ speeding ticket on the Cape last summer.  She 
opted for the issuance of a warrant.  Now I have to do all the driving for 
this summers trip.
