[s-cars] S6 VAG-COM location

Also check out my crude (understatement!) but effective DIY 2x2 connector
using a Cat5 cable at http://tinyurl.com/33zz6. It's at the old Yahoo
Groups, so I think you'll need a Yahoo! Account to see it, unfortunately.

The pinouts for the Cat5 cable are as follows, copied from a post to me from
Uwe Ross:

Cat 5 Wire colors Function
Orange & White/Orange +12
Brown & White/Brown K
Blue & White/Green GND
Green * White/Blue L

Note that you must untwist and "cross" blue and green, the last two sets of
wire colors are not a typo. Pull back the outer insulation on the cable you
have now going to the red OBD-II connector and note it's also got green and
blue "crossed".

HTH.

Guys:

WOW! That was fast with your responses.

I now see that I was looking for the OBD II connector, not realizing that
this
S6 car is the OBD I setup. I've seen on the Ross-Tech site how to get the
earlier connecter patch to work with my later model PC setup.

Many thanks for your help.

Bob
