Well, that could be right. I really don't know about the "stage"
system, because with local MTM dealer does not use any. I thought that
the + ment more tight chip. Here you could get 280-290hp set and it
did require different exhaust setup.

Leaner mixture? I thought you need to be little bit rich to get
optimal mixture and prevent knocking.

One good reason to live in Europe: Both of my cars have MTM chip, but
program is driven for _my car_ by MTM's Peter Link. Here it is
possible to finetune the chip and it is not SO expensive (at least
compared to base price of the chip), problem is that Link visits
Finland not so often. By the way, Peter seems to prefer finetune
mostly in street, not in dyno.
