You're overboost condition sounds to me like a bad
wastegate frequency valve. It could also be a split or
disconnected hose from that valve to the wastegate.
The valve mounts right on the front of the hose from
the airbox to the turbo, one input going into that
hose, another from the turbo scroll, and the last one
to the wastgate. If the valve isn't properly
functioning or the line to the wastgate is split, you
will overboost and go into limp mode.
