Actually I made the reference. 

I think your definition of peaky is that MTM advances the timing and turns 
the turbo on harder much earlier than most chips. Even at 50% throttle there is 
quite a bit of boost created. At sea level this gives it a bit of a V8 feel.  
Less sophisticated chips will only change the bytes on the last couple of 
lines of the boost, fuel and ignition profile -- these only appear to be active 
above 80% of full throttle and this provides an appearance of a larger 
transition between throttle movement.
