I presume you determined that Viton (fluorocarbon) was compatible with
the hydraulic oil (not that I would expect otherwise).  And, that the
maximum temperature to which they are subjected is within their useful
range.  Are silicone o-rings less expensive than Viton these days?  I
can't see Audi picking a more expensive o-ring material if it weren't
needed.

Other end o-rings?  I didn't measure, but I'm pretty sure that when I
replaced them once that they were the same size on both ends of the
hose.  Note that the bolts are the same size, even if oppositely
filtered.
