And let us not forget that the first Rabbits (Golf) were carburated, and
the crankcase ventillation entered the air path just above the choke
plate. When it was below freezing, the water vapor after shutdown would
condense and drip on the choke, freezing it wide open. Hard to start
without a heat gun.
