For fellow listers using comcast cable modems, unannounced new speeds in the chgo mob area:  3000kbps yep:)
Send me $500 to learn how or turn off your modem (and maybe computer too- thats what I did) for five minutes to cycle it.. turn it back on and you're done.
You can do a free speed test at your favorite test url or here:  http://www.toast.net/performance/
Results should go off scale or you should get a "Dude!" type rating if you have been secretly upgraded.
I believe this is being stealthily rolled out in other regions too, but dont know exactly where.
