[s-cars] turbo intake hose - failing?

This is a fairly common failure.... saw one on Paul Park's S4 when we tested 
it just a week ago.

Remember, under normal operating conditions, this hose is under vacuum, not 
pressure.  A small split isn't going to cause you much trouble between now and 
when you can get a replacement.  However, any air that can get in at that 
point, is "unmetered" air.  It has entered the intake tract undetected by the 
MAF... and if the volume is significant (depends on the size of the split), can 
put the mixture into the lean range.  Ultimately, it should be replaced.
