S-gruppees who care: I called Bosch USA to ask about the fuel pump voltage operating range. I explained the situation re: lower voltage likely producing both lower flow and pressure than I need/want. I also explained what I wanted to do in terms of relaying the fuel pump. The fellow suggested that I could either chase down the apparently missing 1 to 1.5 (or more) volts or do the relay thing. With a fuse, of course. He said the pumps suffer more from low voltage than from high voltage (up to 16 V). He thought 13.2 V or so from the battery would be fine.
So off we (Sean and I) go, relaying the fuel pump to the battery. We'll keep the list informed as to the improvements in fuel delivery and pressures.
