s-heads

I have seen a few posts of late on mileage and I thought I would post my most
recent results. I was motivated by a perception that my mileage wasn't what
it once was given the recent fueling mods added to my car by Dave Jones and
Brendan Rudak of Autosport Werks. I had originally thought that the custom tuning
on the dyno would mitigate the fueling mods so I was anxious to find out what
my true mileage would be.

I ran through 2 full tanks of gas to within 4-5 gallons of empty. The first
tank was an average of 50% freeway driving and 50% village driving. On this
tank I drove with spirited abandon accomplishing mutiple WOT pulls. I, of course,
stayed within all the legal speed limits of the state of Colorado and the
village of Evahboost;-) On the second tank, I drove with that imaginary egg
between my right foot and the gas pedal. This tank was also a 50/50 combo of
highway and village driving. That first tank brought an 18 mpg average while the
second fetched 22 mpg. On my trip to the ACNA Nationals at Sears Point last year,
I averaged 24 mpg at a steady 75 mph.

So, even though I run a large Garrett T04E 57 trim turbo with 440cc @ 3.0 bar
injectors and larger fuel lines with a high flow Bosch Motorsport fuel pump,
I can still get very good mileage with combined highway and village driving.
My wife and I will be taking a couple of short road trips this month and I plan
on taking my car on at least one of them. I'll report on the all highway
mileage when it happens.

Hap talkin dahkine mileage in Evahboost, Maguire
