[s-cars] Stock boost levels?

I drove Joe's car at 35 psi boost..
That was before it failed...
He has a T03 / K26 Hybrid from what I recall, and a special wastegate mod
(piece of pipe).
I encourage the consumption of Molson's product entirely :-)
I will be sure to bring some with me to //Sfest this year...
I would think it is safe to read into Lino's post, and I assume he is
referring to the Audi digital gauge.
It is BAR absolute, and I have seen 2.2 BAR on mine...

Missing a decimal point would still put Lino's gauge in the @ 31 psi peak
range, "stabilizing" at 29 to 30.5psi. That still seems pretty high, even
for a chipped car..., even in EverboOST.
But then maybe you Canadians do things differently. I'm still flabbergasted
at Joe Vella's running, I think he's said, 40psi on his stroker. In fact
I'm so flabbergasted I'm seriously thinking of switching to Molson's or
LaBatte's full time, & I haven't the heart to tell Hap how much bigger Joe's
turbo has to be than his :-)
I had a 91 200 TQ with the 3B which came with the same gauge package as the
1992 UrS4. As I recall, the digital boost gauge in the instrument cluster
read in bar, but the highest reading I ever saw on that gauge was @1.2 to
1.3 bar, and the scuttlebutt on that gauge was, it was alleged by many to be
notoriously inaccurate for some reason or another. The latter point always
bothered me because it was never clear to me at least whether the boost
gauge was getting is information from it's own sensor, or ... from some kind
of feed back from the ECU. If the latter, the suggestion that the
information would be unreliable was unsettling.
Until Lino clears it up, I think I'll go with the missing a decimal point &
somehow reading/reporting absolute pressure for @ 18psi,
dropping/stabilizing at @ 14 to 16psi (i.e., 2.1-1= 1.1x14.5=15.95)
interpretation. Which after all, FWIW would seems more normal for a stock,
unchipped ECU. But, OTOH if Lino is regularly running 30+psi I'd be pretty
interested in how he's doing that too :-)
