Dave,
Thanks a lot for your reply. You're confirming what I concluded from
reading all the posts. I was just trying to verify if anyone out there has
tried these bulbs and verified they don't have any problems with the flimsy
plastic reflectors. I clearly understand they should not have a problem,
but we've all learned the hard way that German Engineering can sometimes
hold 'surprises".
Thanks,
Robert Welch

Robert: These bulbs do not draw more power than stock bulbs. They are still
55w low and 65w high. From what I have read (see the links I previously
posted) and have been told by Daniel Stern, they are just more efficient in
turning that electrical energy into more light than the stock bulbs. The
stock bulbs do not do anything constructive with the IR light that is
generated and therefore it just goes to heat. I suspect that the 9011/9012
bulbs may actually generate less heat than stock. Whatever they do, they
can't generate both more light and more heat. (or so I am told by the
physics geeks).

Hey guys,
I'd just like to double check the obvious question regarding the group
purchase/ upgrade to Halogen Infrared Bulbs.....can I safely perform this
upgrade and not have the plastic reflector melt due to the increased heat of
the bulbs? I've read the posts and the URL's, I'd just like to confirm that
this simple upgrade replaces nothing but the bulbs, while the flimsy OEM
reflectors remain in place without melting down.
I'm presuming someone has already 'been there done that".
Thanks a lot,
Robert Welch

Yeh, like you said. H1 low and 9005 (65 W) high. The question is still,
why did you get an H1 low? Igor, before you changed to Euro's what did your
97 S6 have for headlight bulbs?

Oops, I meant 9005 high.
Sean
P.S. Urs4.com is wrong on this and has reversed 9005 and 9006.
