Hi there,
I am a new S6 owner coming over from the V8 list here @ audifans. I
have been reading with interest the last few weeks as my S6 is about 5
weeks new to me. I am in need of an oil change and such and was
wondering if anyone had any other BTDT I should do seeing as this is a
new car to me. It has 71K miles and is a 2 owner car (including
myself) and was maintained by a VW dealer in PA. I do not know what
kind of oil has been used previously but am concerned with just dumping
full synthetic into it as I made that mistake with my V8 and it has
been leaking ever since. Also, should I change the diff fluid and such
or wait for the 90K service. The car is completely stock and was
driven rather gently as the owner was an older woman believe it or not.
There is an area of concern b/c it uses Pentosin or mineral Hydraulic
fluid and seems to be leaking at the nose of the pump or the banjo
fitting on top. I have not investigated any further than just looking
but would like to do so this evening which leads me to my final
question. How do I remove the undertray? On my V8 there is a little
"trap" door which can be removed to change the filter w/o taking the
entire belly pan off, it doesn't seem to be the case on the S6. I just
looked under it this morning and saw that it looks like the entire
thing has to be removed so can anyone enlighten me before I put it up
on ramps as the best way to do this. Thanks.
john
