MLP wondered~
"Does anyone know if there would be some kind of additional
input/control
feature vis-à-vis turning ABS off in a 95.5 or latter EDL car? i.e.
with
95.5 EDL, if one were to turn ABS off, would the car's AWD via EDL also
be
gone?"
Mike- I would guess off is off and EDL would then be off too.
That said, let's visit Torsen Territory cuz.. heck, we havent been
there in awhile;)
IIRC, none other than the All Knowing, All Seeing, Dr. Keith Maddock
once educated us that with a Torsen rear diff, the torsen would kick in
well before EDL decided to start working.
Sooo if thats true then, to turn off ABS in a torsen diff equipped S6
should not affect at least the rear end of an S6.
What say ye Dr Keith?
Personally though I prefer ABS as in one instance it severely helped me
maintain control and 'mostly' steer around the nice woman who stopped in
front of me. Of course I may have noticed her stopping had I not been
tuning the radio, drinking coffee, reading the paper and shifting the
car whilst in the midst of a traffic jam;)
YMMV
