Have you or your wife tried turning the wheel while attempting to turn the
key?

The key will not turn if there is any force from the turned sterring wheel
when it is in the locked position.

Common problem. I have told at least two others about this in the last 4
months.

Haudi....

hey my wife doesn't know it yet but when she wakes up this morning she's not
going to be able to get her car running. I didn't think I could quite get by
her car in the driveway so I decided to push it back a bit. When I realized
her wheels were turned I went and got her keys. You all know where I'm going
with this.... 8-) Now I can't get the key to turn in the tumbler. Since her
car already had the return spring problem with the ignition I have a new
unit in the waiting... I've got two questions.

First, I've seen the writeup on the web site. The IC reference I assume is
Instrument Cluster.... Do I really come in from the back ? Before readin
the writeup I had assumed I could remove the kick plate under the dash and
get at it from below... Hmmm, I guess I could do the 2w peanut bulbs AND the
outside temp bulbs while it's apart...

Second, is there a way to completely disable the steering wheel lock ? I'm
guessing it's a mechanical thing...

Ooops, gotta go, theres the phone... gee wonder who that is.

thanks,

tom.
