[s-cars] bulbs

I am very new to the S-Car list, although I have owned my '95 S6 for six
years..  I came in in the middle of the discussion on bulbs and I
ordered 9011 and 9012 bulbs for my headlights.  They arrived today.  Do
the bulbs require any modification to fit or do they just fit as they
came?  Do they require cleaning before installation?   I was confused
when I read Mark Pollan's email.
Thanks in advance for the help.  I look forward to being an active
participant in the group.
