OK I am a newbie here so excuse me if I am asking questions that are commonly
answered. I did look in the archives and realize I should be asking how to
make the car more aggressive instead...

Living in NYC where the roads are at best horrible, at worst wheel
destroying, my family finds my new to me 2001 s4 avant a very harsh ride. It came with
Dunlap SPXXX's that are inflated to 35 pounds which seems to be fairly low.
Would a new set of softer tires help here? Enough?

Part 2 is - the car came with that Bose option stereo and I am sure a lot of
you like Bose and one of the cars I looked at the guy raved about the stereo,
but the fact is Bose is the Boston Market to other car manufactures
Macdonalds. I am not that happy with it. However, never having a car newer then 1985
before I wonder how I can cram a good stereo in the small custom places they put
the manufacturers one? I don't want custom boxes, I hate those sub and amp in
a tube thing. I want to start by just replacing some of the speakers and
having less of them. Where is the amp anyway? Are the two rear seat kick panel
speakers the subs? I am after good sound by the way not something overly bass-y or
anything, just so you don't think I am looking to set off car alarms with my
stereo.

Thank you so much for allowing m to break into your regularly scheduled
program. And for any advice you might offer.

Yale
