Are the tires the dry or M&S version of the Nero's? Actually, you shouldn't get that type of response in either case, unless the pressures are way to low.
However, that being said, the Nero probably does have a more rounded sidewall profile than the Extremo, so the feel would be different. The Nero may blow the Extremo away in actual handling, but if you're used to the tread/sidewall transition being blocky, they would feel odd. Note that the Toyo T1-S and the Firestone SZ50EP, two of the best true handling tires around, both have more rounded sidewalls and narrower section widths than other ultra high performance tires for a given size.
