Hello all,
I have tracked down why i have been having problems w/ my locking
system in the 95.5 avant in the rear door ( that would be "tailgate"
door to all the sedan owners out there ;) ) in my avant- the servo
there has a leak. it is in the plunger part, or black rubber, flexible
seal that covers the servo and the metal arm that pushes/pulls the lock
open and closed. In the great wisdom and experience of the list, has
anyone found a DIY'er for this one other than replacing the entire
servo? I would hate to spend the unnecessary cash (haven't even dared
to look at the current prices out there) if there is a fix that is
documented.
Would a piece of common heat shrinking rubber used for plumbing and
electrical connections work in this instance you think? I know they are
used for insulation of cold solder joints in plumbing and as
covers/insurance straps on the electrical side, but do not know if
there is any sort that are a pneumatic-rated? Any BTDT would be super.
Sincerely,
matt ludwig.
1995.5 s6 avant.
