If my memory serves, questionable indeed, the plumbing for the RS2 is wrong. 
The RS2 uses an intake manifol similar to the 3B engine. The charge air is 
routed from the turbo to the the fron of the car, through the I/C and back again, 
then back over the turbo to the back of the engine. It enters the IM at the 
firewall. This is why we can't use the RS2 IM for the urS4/6. If I remember 
correctly the RS2 I/C directs the air in a U-shaped circuit. It starts on the 
passenger side and ends there as well.
