[s-cars] Hesitation under full throttle

I have just recently purchased a 92 S4.  Not too long ago the car would feel like it would hesitate badly when under full throttle from 3000rpms on up.  I'm not too familier with this car yet, so could anyone give me something to look for?  I don't know if it's related, but my factory boost gauge stopped working at about the same time.  Thanks for any help.
