Manuel:
The 6 disc is made for Audi by Alpine has a proprietary 8 pin DIN round
plug and will plug directly into the wiring harness without an adapter.
When calling the dealer ask them to pull the unit off the shelf and
verify the plug. The 10 disc Sony unit is for the 1992-1994 S4s.
The stereo shop you refer to might be trying to sell you an aftermarket
Alpine unit which AFAIK will not work with our cars. Maybe the adapter
he is referring to is an RF modulator which is not what you want.
