i jack from the jacking points on the rocker panel seams, and put
jackstands under the u-brackets.  the saddle of the jackstand fits
perfectly into the channel, and i don't have to worry about the car
slipping off the jackstand.

as for the rear, i've used the jack under the differential and put
the jackstands under the jacking points on the rocker panel seams.
