[s-cars] New or nearly-new car purchase

Teddy,
The Mustang (didn't think I could get a s/c cobra for that kind of
money) is a consideration, either the '05 GT or '04 Mach 1.
The Evo I always thought was too expensive. If I can get an Evo for
$25k out the door, I'll do it and be like Joey. :-)
Then I'll have the best of both worlds- big bruiser sedan (Audi) and
fast nimble sporty car.

he already thought of that (in private email).
funny you didn't mention the lancer evo. a local dealer has several of
them on the lot, all leftover '03s, and is asking $27k for them. you
could probably chew the price down a bit.
taka, i think you should decide what's more important to you of the
criteria you mentioned. for example, you can probably get an '03
mustang cobra in the price range you mentioned. it's not going to be
that great in the corners (unless you do some modifications), and the
reliability won't be like a toyota, but it'll have more power than
anything else you can buy for that price. it's supercharged and
probably underrated at 390 hp. also has a lot of aftermarket support,
so you can easily bump the power to 500 hp if you're so inclined (and
your wallet allows).
