[s-cars] Water trap?

S-gruppees:  Some months (8? 10?) ago I got into a "pissing" match with
Mihnea (on AudiDudiWorld) as to the contents of the little black plastic
"can" in question, the "moisture trap".  I contended that it had a
diaphram inside so that the actual moist air (potentially with some fuel
vapour in it) could not actually reach the 2.5 (or 3.0) bar MAP
(pressure transducer).  To "prove" my point, I ordered a new one (about
$6) so I could cut my old one apart and prove/disprove my "theory").
Guess what?  Not one moisture trap available in North America!!  Had to
come from Europe!!!  Guess what?  I have never received this item.  So I
take it from that, whatever it does, it doesn't ever need to be replaced
(barring total loss due to an accident - which probably "kills" the car
anyway).

I know you were just dieing to know this bit of trivia.(not)  ;>)
