[s-cars] Water trap?

Dave, with thanks to Bob Rossato (he was first to point to the location) I
found my water trap. In my urS6 it is located under the carpet about a
foot to the right of the ECU. It is a white(ish) cannister just a bit
smaller than a 35 mm film can with two hoses connected to one end of the
can. I have been having low boost problems so I've been searching for a
MASSIVE leak. None found. None heard. No evidence for one except for
very low boost (4 psig max vs. 28 psig max). Well, lets check out the
water trap. OK, I find it and check the hoses. They look and feel
solid. OK, let's put a bit of soap solution on each of the four
connections and go for a spin. No bubbles. Hiss heard with the carpet
still lifted. Aha!!! I found a small (< 1 mm slit) in the hose connecting
the ECU to the "T" where my boost gauge connects. I have had the ECU out
numerous times recently (another story - working with Mihnea developing
software and changing chips frequently) and the hose eventually wore
through from repeated clamping and unclamping.

Now - I GOT BOOST!!! No white moustache, though. ;-)

Once again I get to "YEEEEHAAAAA!!!". :-)

Dave, the interior of the canister is a series of baffles to prevent liquid
water from being blown into the ECU. There is nothing exotic inside the
can. The plastic is translucent enough so that the insides can be more or
less seen if not clearly.
