[s-cars] S4/S6 brakes

Bill, do you use the parking brake ?
Do you use the brakes while in reverse...?
Many people back out of the driveway, but never really use the brakes to
stop before going forward. Myself included.

What I am getting at is that the rear brakes are not adjusting themselves
properly. Part of the car's poor brake feel is from the rear pads being too
far away from the disc. Too prove this to myself, one day for shits and gins
I plugged the master cylinder's rear brake circuit. You would not believe
how hard the pedal was. This was with my 996 TT over 993 rings, but none the
less it felt much firmer than same config but with the rear brake circuit
active.

Try to look at the spring return on the parking brake at each caliper,
verify that they are free and return to the stop on the caliper...
Go into the car and apply modest pull on the parking brake lever and then
apply the brakes.. do this a few times. Do not reef the darn time, as you
may break the cable, now there is a pain the arse to change.
Ad some lube to the seal area of the caliper, but be selective as to what U
use, you don't want to create a sticky mess there. It will just trap dirt.

Mark
