that i don't know.  but if they were hot dip galvanized, wouldn't they
be galvanized on both sides?

i do know the sheetmetal has been galvanized at least on one side for 
quite some time.  even my '87 mustang has galvanized metal on the outside.
i can tell because it forms a yellowish-whitish residue when i weld it.
