I believe some corrections on your observations are in order here. First, 
they do cost more but nowhere near twice as much. You should be able to find the 
GT30/35Rs for about $1050-1150 from Turbo Engineering 303-271-3997. Second, 
why would you grenade a motor first before rebuilding and what has that got to 
do with the state of your turbo? I do agree if you rebuild one of these bb 
turbos they do require more funds than a rebuild kit. Fourth, the GT35R goes 
significantly above 500hp.
