"Clearing" the memorized codes is done with this procedure on
at least some of the 95.5 -> 97 (98 for Avant) RF remote cars:
1. one key in the ignition, turned on.
2. lock drivers door with another key.
3. on one of the remotes, press the open key 5 times at one second
intervals.
The car is supposed to beep with each key press, but it may fail
to do so.
4. wait six seconds after the last key press in step 3,
and with the same remote press the open key 1 more time.
5. at this point, the car should unlock and all the RF codes
have been erased.
6. if it doesn't unlock, unlock it with the key.
7. remove key from ignition.
Now try the programming sequence again:
1. one key in the ignition, turned on.
2. lock drivers door with another key.
3. on the remote being programmed to be remote #N,
press the open key N times at one second intervals.
(where N is 1, 2, 3, or 4.)
The car is supposed to beep with each key press, but it may fail
to do so.
4. wait six seconds after the last key press in step 3,
and with the same remote press the open key 1 more time.
5. at this point, the car should unlock and the remote being
programmed should be memorized by the car.
6. remove key from ignition.
7. you should now be able to use this remote to lock or unlock the car.
Both procedures are tricky because of the 1 second/6 second intervals.
If you wait too long, too little, the car gives up on the procedure
and you have to start over, but there's no feedback that this has
happened (except that the whole thing doesn't work in the end.)
