Ouch.  What a story!  The sad thing is, would it be any different if
"S4" was substituted for "M3"  and "Audi" for "BMW"?   I really doubt
it.  This is why I wouldn't buy a new car.  They only want you as long
as its not going to cost them any real money.  If they (Audi, BMW, etc.)
can slough off $2K of maintenance just before the warrantee is up, will
they do it?  Probably.

I like my 93 S4.  At least I know that its going to cost me and I have
no allusions otherwise.
