Ok drop the car off in Queens, with a note on the trunk stating "Cash 
Inside" / "Drugs Inside" whatever moves you. You will surely come back to 
find the trunk open, if the car is still there.

Have you tried the key in the lock and turn past top, as if you where 
unlocking it with out unlocking the car first ? ( you likely have, I just 
don't remember reading it).

You may have to sneak thru the ski bag, or get someone smaller to do it, and 
manually open the latch.
