Brian,
Yes, as Fred says, 22ft.lbs. 24 is fine.  There is quite a history to these
coming loose and the problems that can develop if one comes out.  Lots of
stuff in the archives..  The common recommendation is to check them every
time you change your oil.  I believe it is important to not reuse the crush
washers.  Once new plugs are in and torqued properly they seem to generally
be ok.
