If you find out what this is I would be very interested.  I have the exact
same symptom on a 2001 A6 2.7t.

I also have a cold stumble or cold miss.  It isn't much of a problem
because it simply goes away by the time I back out of the garage and reach
the street perhaps 100 feet away.  It is not there on a warm start, only
cold - basically the first startup of the day.  It also sometimes doesn't
happen even on the first start of the day. ???

Any suggestions?
