[s-cars] I made a HUGE mistake...

S-Heads,

Now I've gone and done it, and I'm paying dearly for being so brazenly
stupid. I sat down with my wife after performing a surprisingly successful
brake job on my 95 S6 and told her that "This is a great month for my car!
Things are going great! I've got new brake pads, put in my new bulbs that
I got from the GP, fixed my temp bulb in my IC, switching to Synthetic this
weekend and doing a coolant flush. Life is good!"

Whoops.

Shortly after this delightful delusion, my car left me stranded at Wendy's
as the metal rod on the Clutch Master Cylinder snapped in two. Had to get
her to my house on a flat-bed where my bro-in-law was thinking he could fix
just the rod... Yeah right. $149 (Thank you German Auto Parts, you saved
me over $200!!!!) and a week later (yesterday) I was back in business. Bro
was also going to do the coolant flush and oil change while he was working
on it and we were at church. We come home and I see the car HAS moved, so
this is a good sign.

I call him up and he says that the clutch master cylinder took about 3
hours to put in (he calls my car "Hitler's Revenge," btw) and he wasn't
able to get the drain plug off my car to drain the oil! Apparently the
last place that changed my oil wailed on it trying to get it off and it's
all mangled. He's going to have to weld a socket to it in order to get it
off, provided there's no damage to the oil pan. He says he'll get the new
plug when he replaces my rear bushings and my leaking axle seal, in
addition to the coolant thermostat which also needs to be replaced.

In light of all this, I was just happy to be able to drive it to work
today, since it's been sitting for the past week. When I turned the car
on, I noticed that I had magically lost about 2000 miles from the odometer
when I changed the bulb on the IC. I'm not sure how on Earth I'd get them
back, and I'm not very pleased that they're gone to begin with! Then, on
the way to work (all 2.2 miles) I noticed the STRONG smell of gas in the
cabin. I get to work and find that my gas line is DRIPPING onto the
engine, about a drop every couple of seconds.

I guess it's a love/hate relationship with these cars, guess which phase
I'm in now?
