Subject: [s-cars] Wheel bearing
Looks like my front right wheel bearing bit it. Any BDTS on replacement? I
plan to take the strut out go to a machine shop and have a new one pressed.
It's squeeling pretty bad, do you think I could drive on it at least to pick
up a new wheel bearing?>>>
Ah yes, BTDT hours before I was to drive it to NH for vacay in Aug. (and hit
the drags 8-)!).
On way back from client, squealed loudly with no warning (odd), drove 20
miles <60 to parts store, $90 FAG bearing (great name), drove 25 miles <45
to friend's shop (thank you S-list / Rossato / D'Amato APB Batphone).
Yanked caliper, strut, pressed in, reinstalled (in Corp. Casual of course).
Took 2 hours on the nose. Not a bad job, if you have a press and a 2nd body
to speed things along (and get dirtier than me).
Good luck, HTH.
-Paul blew bearing on way to vacay only to blow POS during vacay, it never
ends K.
