James: The link at the C4.de website is NOT hot and the photo is not of a C4 dash (as far as I can tell). Therefore, until shown otherwise, I will file it under "myths and legends". Dave F.

Hey Dave, I haven't done this myself... nor do intend to either, but the pictures speak for themselves (see bottom of the web site)... and appears to be done on a C4 and is also listed on the german C4 site: http://www.typc4.de/Umbauten/Umbauten.html

Maybe it's another internet myth... but I don't think so ;-)

Cheers, /Jamu.

James: Please tell me how you would eliminate the dark red plastic that is underneath our grey gauge faces and I will believe you. What colour bulb + red = blue? I am VERY skeptical that this works on our cars. Dave F.

Hello Dave F., with respect to "There is no way to get blue light", I beg to differ...

Dave: I think you will find that the plastic that looks makes the numbers look black in the daytime and red (okay, orange) at night is, in fact, very dark red plastic. The IC is back lit, not side or top lit. Hence the colour change from black to red at night. There is no way to get blue light. White bulbs = orange lettering at night. The only way to get redder would be to have coated bulbs or use red bulb "condoms" (like you get when you buy an AutoMeter Boost gauge). Or LED's.

Dave F.
