[s-cars] water injection

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but yes you will see benefits in
cooler charge temps & cooler running of the turbo by injecting before the
turbo. However you will also coat the internals of your intercooler with
water, thus reducing its efficiency. Whether the benefits outway the
drawbacks?? I dunno.
The recomended practice is to place the injector as far from the throttle
body & plenum as possible but after the intercooler.

I have some experience with regard to the question about whether it's ok to
put the water injection nozzle ahead of the turbo. In my misspent youth I
worked for a shop that did a lot of turbo development work. We designed &
manufactured a separate supplementary fuel system which we also used for
water/methanol injection. The supplemental injectors were (gasp) ahead of
the turbo - we never saw any excess wear on impeller blades.
And don't forget that back in the very old times, before fuel injection
ruled the earth, carburetors (remember them?) were more often than not out
ahead of the turbo, drawing the fuel and air right past the impeller...
