Yes..yes it is true...my ITS K26 RS2 Comp++ Turbo exploded on October 13th.  It was a horror of a sight to see and hear...we are talking totally covering 3 full lanes of traffic with smoke that you could cut a knife through.  Thus causing people to slam on their brakes, turn on their head-lights, and some even their windshield wipers!  
	A 2nd gear pull to about 6K when I hear this ZINNNNG sound followed by huge plum of smoke...I pulled over about 15-20 seconds later as soon as I could get over..opened the hood and the engine bay was on FIRE!!!  No fire extinguisher on hand..so I did what any boy scout (never was) would do..and blew the fire out with my mouth went out with just one blow...no kidding!  I must of forgot to brush my teeth that morning and thank goodness for Mobile 1 and not Pennzoil Dino burning.
	After further examination looks like the hot-side compressor wheel broke off via either the turbine shaft breaking and/or the nut on the compressor wheel spinning off and went flying down the Stromung DP..slicing and dicing its way down. Thus..causing a nice pool of Mobile 1 to sit on my RS2 manifold and catch on fire.  Also had a nice boring effect to create what some may call the RSSS DP..which now has to have a plate welded on the side to patch up the holes/slices...probably should go with some 1/4" Military Steel in case it happens again ;-)  I had the car towed to ASW after a 1 hour walk in 40 degree temps with Sushi in my hand that my wife sent me to go get..at least had company with my brother.  
	Brain at ASW found the compressor wheel and bits..I kid you not at in the rear muffler..not to mention about 2-3 qts of unburnt oil in the exhaust. So as for the cause..it is unknown...and yet to TBD...but I can say that I picked up a nice ITS Garrett 50 Trim TO4E from Dave Dawson on Sunday that is going in as we speak and is hopefully completed today.

Oh the adventure with this car never ends....

Seems to me I did hear some story about Mr Payne's escapades with said turbo.
