This is precisely why I do everything myself. Dealerships never do things right, especially things that require a bit more time or effort. Dealers don't have time. I've had each of my Audis at a dealer once. Both times they came back fcuked up. Once a broken ABS sensor and the other time screwdrivers marks all over my engine bay. I'm talking deep marks too. Multiple deep marks. Fcuk dealers.
Buy your son a pressure bleeder from ebay for $20. Bleed your brakes and clutch salve cylinder. Buy sparkplugs online for $15 each and boots for $15 each. Read SJM Autotechnik's website (especially the section on misfiring) and you'll be smarter than the average dealer "tech".

Subject: [s-cars] dealership woes, (oh my)
while i was on vacation end of sept and beginning of october my son took his s6 in to the dealership for repair. although the list of complaints seemed straightforward, the repairs costing $$$$$$$ have left him worse off than before. for example....
while its in flush the brakes with new fluid""
result- brakes are now so spongy it feels like standing on a soft tennis ball. yes you can stop fine at normal speeds but once stopped you can also easily push the pedal to the bottom of its stroke (clunk). the car has been back 3 times as unacceptable....the last service order read "vehicle braking as designed"
"replace noisy release bearing and also install new clutch kit. pedal is too hard"
result- bearing is quiet (yayyy) pedal is still hard, clutch will not disengage properly and car moves forward as soon as pedal is marginally moved from the floor. downshifts must be done with great care.
took it back 3 times as unsatisfactory. their invoice read "with a new clutch a vehicle is supposed to be able to pull away with the pedal close to the floor"
"ëngine misfires under boost "
dealer installed 5 f5dpor plugs 5 leads 5 coils cost $$$$$$
result- after 3 days the misfire returned with a vengeance. i was now back home and checked the car. number 2 cyl plug was missing about an inch of its centre core electrode. the side electrode was a molten blob and the porcelain was broken.
i put in a cheapo champion plug to get it back to the dealer and it ran fine (i didn't drive it hard)
comments?
