[s-cars] dealership woes

Your problem isn't that the dealer is incompetent,
it's that their tecs have little or no experience with
older Audis. Most dealers today have younger tecs
who've never worked on a 5 cylinder Audi, let alone an
UrS4 or S6. They don't understand the intricacies and
details of these cars. Moreover, Audis have changed a
great deal since the UrS cars. The clutch and
transmissions are very different from today's cars.
(Okay, so they're still a clutch and a transmission,
but in my opinion they're not nearly as good as the
S-cars, there's something very different about them)

I've been taking my S cars to the dealer ever since I
bought them and I can't complain. Perhaps I'm lucky as
my local dealer has several tecs, three of whom have
all had extensive training and have been around long
enough to have worked on the UrS cars when they were
first introduced. In addition, on those occasions when
the dealer is too backed up there's an independent not
too far from me who's excellent.

I will, however, admit that your dealer's answers to
your concerns are less than valid.

Anyway, key here is, if you can't do the work
yourself, or are unwilling to do it, you have to find
a good tec who can.

Good luck,

Alex
