Yes I do believe it is RF, the car is a 95.5 S6. It is the small 2
button fob with two small rubber buttons, one button is recessed
(cupped) and the other button sticks up a bit.
What is the IR procedure - I'll try that too - nothing to loose!!!!
I just went out and tried to reprogram and/or erase the memory and no
luck. I do not get any horn beep when pushing the open button once or 5
times to erase (I tried both buttons but I am told that the cupped
button is open). Any ideas??
When I lock the doors normally I get the horn beep so the horn thing is
working. It almost seems like the car isn't seeing the RF signal if I
am not getting the horn beep.

Is it and RF? One thing that may be preventing you from programming is
that the 4 "frequency slots" are full. The receiver only allows 4
frequencies to be programmed and once full, they need to be erased.
