Igor and Edward, it sounds like the pump is actually coming apart.  The good news is you can rebuild it yourself fairly cheaply.  Look at the timing belt procedure from UrS4.com for pump removal instructions, and use the instrucstions from Chris Miller's site to rebuild the pump.

	if the fluid comes out of the X-plug then it is very typical for our cars. It can
	be fixed by replacing the X-plug with the O-ring. Audi has a repair kit for that
	very purpose. Last time I paid for it ca. $3.20.
