Dave,
Great post..thank you for the valuable information...wish I
could have had my car there to "defend" the ITS K26 with OEM IC
..especially with the Apikol FMIC now ;)
Based on the last dyno session that you and I attended together
you did 325 HP/401 ft/lbs of torque (Max HP at 4700 and Max Torque at
3800) with a full KKK RS2 set-up
My car on the other hand, with 40% leak-down on cylinder 5 and
teens and 20's in 3 other cylinders, did 314 HP/380 ft/lbs of torque
(Max HP at 5600 and Max Torque at 3900. Obviously this is 11 HP less
and 21 ft/lbs of torque less. Max HP 900 RPM sooner and Max Torque
100-150 sooner with the KKK RS2 vs. the ITS K26.
Now the questions one must ask are:
-1) How much HP and torque was I loosing due to the worn cylinder walls?
-2) How would my engine rebuild have effected those numbers since the
compression/leakdown is back to new?
- Sort of hard to test now w/ the FMIC in place and OEM parts
sold off.
-3) Why was my peak horsepower 900 RPM later then the KKK RS2?
-4) How would Hap's TO4E/K26#6 compare to the 46 and 50 trims you have
tested? (Change no other variables)
-5) How has my custom programming by Mihnea effected those numbers
-6) How has the Stromung Cat-By Pass effected those numbers
-7) How has the FMIC intercooler effected those numbers? (Latest dyno
says 25 to 30 HP gain)
-8) Finally I would love to be able to do a back to back test w/ the
stock air box/paper element and the Dahlback Intake (esp with the FMIC
now to cool those underhood intake temps.)
Great work Dave..you are huge to this board!
In terms of my guess what the car did with no exhaust and only DP..I say
15 HP gain. Just based on my experience with the Cat-By pass. Please
tell..please tell!
Thx
